March 24nd, 2012 - Interview with HANDS Co-founder Mariana Diaz featured on Notre Dame's TheHUB 

During my semester abroad in São Paulo, Brazil, I had the opportunity of meeting a number of Notre Dame alumni current located throughout the city. It was through one of these meetings that I first met Mariana Diaz, a 2008 graduate. Through our exchange, I learned that, after graduating, Diaz went on to co-founded a non-profit organization known as HANDS. Read more.....

March 22nd, 2012 - HANDS' Summer Programs were featured on the Notre Dame Observer. 

HANDS, a non-profit organization founded by three Notre Dame alumni from different Central American countries, seeks to reduce poverty levels in Central America by partnering with local organizations and coordinating volunteer programs there, co-founder Mariana Diaz said. Read more.....

A Hand for Guatemala: A non-profit organization of social responsibility. Before they started their education in the prestigious University of Notre Dame, the young Guatemalan girls dreamed of helping others, and it was in this institution where they were able to convert their dream to a visionary initiative through which they aim to have a valuable impact in social responsibility projects in Guatemala.

HANDS Helping Others Help: A project that promotes social responsibility among Guatemala´s Youth. Three young girls formed in february of 2009 a non-profit organization in the United States and recently opened offices in Guatemala. Its objective is to improve the quality of life of the life of thousands of Guatemalans by creating alliances with organizations.

HANDS is growing and expanding! The inauguration of Hands Guatemala took place in Guatemala City on December 1st with an evening cocktail. The purpose of the event was to threefold. First, it was held to formally introduce the organization to the Guatemalan society, raise awareness of HANDS´ accomplishments and share our aspirations and goals to promote development in Guatemala.

Secondly, during the event, we officially launched our website and lastly, it served to raise funds for our organization. Thanks to all those who supported us!
